It’s bound to be another big year, Angels. Here is our tentative race calendar for 2012 (we’ve hit all the big ones, at least). Who’s with us?

April 1 — Chi-Town Half Marathon (Maggie)
May 5 — Flying Pig 10K, Cincinnati (Amie)
May 6 — Flying Pig Half Marathon, Cincinnati (Adrea and Maggie)
May 13 — Y-Me Race at Your Pace 5K for Breast Cancer, Chicago (Maggie)
June 30 — Hyde Park Blast, Cincinnati (Amie and Adrea)
July 8 — Boilermaker 15K, Utica, N.Y. (Maggie’s wish list)
July 28 — Bix 7, Davenport, Iowa (Adrea and Maggie)
Sept. 15 — Hudepohl 14K Brewery Run, Cincinnati (Amie and Adrea)
Sept. 30 — Bucktown 5K, Chicago (Maggie)
Oct. 7 — Chicago Marathon (Maggie)
Oct. 21 — Columbus Half Marathon (Amie)
Dec. 2 — Cross Country Challenge 8K, Gilberts, Ill. (Maggie)
Looks like an excellent year. I’m doing the Polar Dash 1/2 this Saturday but that seems to be the only overlap our schedules have. Love the Flying Pig though — if you haven’t done that one before, get pumped.
Were you way pissed about the Polar Dash being postponed? Adrea was supposed to come in from Cincinnati for it (the long weekend made it optimal), but now she can’t make it. Oh well, at least she’ll still get the fleece, right?
I was definitely miffed, but it wasn’t the end of my world. Since I’m a 10-minute train ride away from the start, it just meant I had to rearrange my training schedule a bit. I do feel for the out-of-towners though, as I’m one who sometimes travels solely for racing purposes. Good luck this Saturday!
