Rookie Rule #8
Having trouble finding the motivation to keep running? Do yourself a favor and sign up for a race. Find a neighborhood 5K or a “themed” race (like this awesomesauce 6K I’m doing in two weeks) to get the ball rolling. While you’re at it, get a friend to sign up. too.
Registering for a race gives you an end goal, a financial commitment and a fun reward for getting moving. Plus, once you experience the nervous excitement of the starting line and the exhilaration of the finish line, you’re much more likely to stick with it — and sign up for more races. — Mags
