How to Eat a Shot Blok.

We’ve already touted the amazingness of Shot Bloks as our mid-run fuel of choice. So, now that you have your yummy gummies, there are still a few things you need to know about ingesting them.

Black Cherry is our go-to flavor.

Pro Tip #1: Even though the package says to eat 2-3 at a time, we find that one Shot Blok every 3-4 miles does the trick.

Pro Tip #2: Keep the bloks in their original packaging. They’re super easy to pop out of that vertical sleeve when you’re on the run. Trim the top off for even easier dispensing.

Pro Tip #3: Cut them in half. Those suckers are awfully chewy, so chopping them in half makes it a heckuva lot easier to mow them down quickly.

Pro Tip #4: Take your gummy with water. During a race, I’ll put the a blok in my mouth as I’m approaching a water stop and shove the sleeve back in my pocket before I reach for a cup of water. This results in far less fumbling around. Also, the water helps wash down the gummy and prevents you from having Black Cherry residue stuck to your molars for the next half-mile.
