It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

As the weather turns from summer into fall, my running senses rejoice. There’s just something magical about that crisp fall air that gears me in to full-fledged runner mode.

There’s a reason they hold the best marathons in the fall (OK, there’s that Boston race in the spring, but MY favorite races all occur in autumn), and that’s because it is a runner’s paradise. Just now, as I’m getting to the point of pregnancy where running is really just an exercise in bladder control, I’m pushing through it, dagnabit, because fall running is worth it.

It awakens the senses, and really makes you feel alive. Plus, I feel like I could run forever and ever and ever in the fall. And there’s no better feeling than that.

So, take advantage of this awesome autumn, Angels! And if you see my slow pregnant waddle through the turning leaves, well, know that I’m happy. Not fast, but happy. –Aidz
